E.J. Gold's Galaxy Ezine: Science Fiction, Fantasy . . .

Creation of the Humanoids

One of my all-time fave rave sci-fi films, in spite of its low budget and sappy dialogue.
If this film were made today with CGI effects, wide screen and tabloid stars in the parts, it would undoubtedly become a boxoffice bash. You'll note that Dr. Raven, Don Doolittle, is a leftover from dozens of 50s sci fi films, yet he's totally forgotten today. Frances McCann was no spring chicken -- she was born in 1922. Her dentist husband financed the film.
There have been some abortive attempts to resurrect this film but nothing has yet appeared on the horizon. Strange -- Hollywood is nothing BUT remakes these days...this should be one of them.
